As part of our commitment to people’s safety, environmental protection, and operational continuity, Matarani conducted a Firefighting Training program for operational and supervisory personnel at the terminal.
The training took place on September 16 and brought together employees from various areas, including Operations, HSSE, and Terminal Management.
Strengthening Critical Knowledge
Throughout the session, participants reinforced key concepts related to fire prevention and emergency response, including:
- Identification of fire hazards in industrial facilities;
- Proper use of firefighting equipment and systems;
- Initial response to emergency situations;
- Fire control and extinguishing techniques;
- Coordination and teamwork during incidents.
The program combined theoretical instruction with practical exercises designed to strengthen participants’ ability to respond effectively to potential scenarios that may arise during terminal operations.
Training to Act Safely
The practical activities allowed participants to become familiar with established procedures and the emergency response equipment available at the terminal.
Training initiatives like this are essential to ensuring that personnel can respond safely, efficiently, and in a coordinated manner when faced with critical situations, helping to minimize risks to people, assets, and the surrounding environment.
A Culture Built on Prevention
In addition to strengthening technical skills, the training aimed to further promote a preventive culture focused on risk management and continuous preparedness.
The activity also contributed to the fulfillment of the terminal’s Annual Activities Program, reinforcing Matarani’s commitment to the continuous improvement of its HSSE performance.
Preparedness Builds Confidence
Safety is built every day through training, practice, and teamwork.
Through initiatives such as this, we continue to strengthen our employees’ preparedness and develop the capabilities needed to respond effectively to potential emergency situations.
Because a safe response begins long before an emergency occurs: it begins with preparation and continuous learning.
